Wait a minute!? Chad Poirot is the one of the owners here!? What drugs was somebody taking when that decision got made!? That guy has got to be one of the most narcissistic and full of crap PGA members in the state of Colorado.
The course is actually really a good public track in Fort Collins area. So my guess is, Chad likes to sit around and take credit for a lot of other peoples hard work, that’s all I’ve known him to do.
I’d play here again for sure as long as I can avoid Mr Butthead Poirot

This golf course is really the best in the area! And it’s been getting better and better with their new superintendent. We play here 5-10 times a year and love the conditions, the challenge, and the value. I will say that there is one guy there that is an absolute tool and really annoying and condescending, he calls people athletes when making tee times and just rubs you the wrong way...he needs to go away. Other than him, the staff is great!

Played with Shades today and he asked me to check out this site. I agree with him that the course is finally reaching its potential. Read the review by Jet. Doesn't take a lot of courage to rate something negatively and don't leave your real name.

Love the review on Jan. 8th when the course has been closed since before Thanksgiving. Sounds like someone doesn't get free golf anymore. The golf course is in the best condition it has ever been. I can finally get a true roll on my putts. Finally some improvements to the facility. Jet get lost!

    Very funny Jet...
You have no idea what you’re talking about!
Highland is the best it’s ever been the last couple seasons...
Thank goodness that people that actually care about course conditions are in charge now, keep up the great work, we love what you’re doing!

Not sure what that T dude was talking about and what that has to do with the golf course. Anyway, love the course. Conditions have improved. Played in November and the greens were wet and slow, but they are usually fast. Wish they had a better clubhouse and I dislike the gas carts. My wife says I smell. But that was before I teed off?!:) Love the pin sheet. Nice touch and it makes me feel special. I play here about 20 times a year and love the deals you can find like their punch card or twilight rate.New owners are doing it right.

Just because you play over 200 rounds at the same golf course and shoot in the high 90s doesn’t mean your opinion is right. You sound like the type that still bitches about the prices of your so-called membership which is costing you about $11 per round with cart. And you’re also the type to stand in the clubhouse in the morning bitching about the freeze delay telling everybody but there’s no frost at my house news alert go play golf at your house then loser oh I’m sorry I meant idiot like you called the other guy.

Played here for the CGA Mid Am Qualifier last Thursday. Course is spectacular! My game wasn’t exactly where I wanted it to be, but absolutely no blame on the course. Greens were so true and so subtle. I loved the set up and the bunkering and fairways were perfect! This is nice little hidden gem in Fort Collins area!

Played Highland Meadows yesterday, 8/31/19, and it was very disappointing compared to previous years. For the cost of green fees & cart you would think the course would be in better condition. Tee boxes were chewed up and not well maintained; the greens not much better. Pace of play was VERY slow and didn't come across one Ranger during the round to ask why; seemed to be waiting before every shot. We finished approximately 35 minutes later than we should have. It will be awhile before we consider getting another round at this course. By the way, this is the first rating I've ever submitted.

Very good course that is managed perfectly. This place is getting better and better. They are finally putting money in this place. Still needs a clubhouse but conditions are the best day in and day out. Only course I have ever played that has daily pin sheets. I feel like a pro and with white paint in the cups too.

The golf course was sold!? Is that all it takes for this perennial disappointment to finally live up to its potential!!!?
We played in April with a special rate, and paid full rate this weekend, US Open weekend, and it's WELL worth it! Greens are incredible! So nice and much improved from years past.
This course is finally what everyone thought it could be!
    We'll be back!

Wow!! What a difference in course management. I heard the course was sold and wanted to try it again. The greens are very good for being early in the year and they dried the rest of the course out. The food is much better and I still love the selection of golf goodies in the shop. A must play!!

My friend Marv told me to write a review. He thinks things can change. We are both in the thinking that this course has a great upside but it isn't full filling its potential. We would love to play here more but the course is almost always in poor to rotten conditions. Way way way too much water on the course. Can't even play in the morning or bounce a ball on the green. Not how golf is meant to be played. And the greens are just so slow that it takes the fun out of it. Bunkers are a mess and the rough is very penal. I can't see my group or friends playing here again until something changes.

Man why do I keep giving this place a chance? I drive up to the little tuff shed and expect different results, but nothing new. Nice layout, good service in the shop, and that is it. Course had to do a low rate to lure me there and it disappointed me again. Greens were the worst I have ever putted on. They said they just punched the greens. Great I play on freshly punched greens a lot and at least they are cared for. AWFUL!! slow and bumpy is no way to go thru life. You would think with all the negative comments about the conditions that someone would make a change. WAKE UP!! MAKE A CHANGE OR MY GROUP WILL NEVER PLAY AGAIN AND TELL EVERYONE TO SKIP HIGHLAND!!!! The best thing for this course is to go bankrupt and the city take it over. A municipality running a course better than private ownership should never happen. In fact, it never has, until now!!!

I saw the course on tv and decided to drive up and play. Decent course but in poor shape. a lot of fairqway s were dirt or almost dead. they tried to put sod down on one fairway. the only real grass was the rough and that was very tough to find your ball and then to try and hit out of was not fun. greens ok and the bunkers were wet and not smooth or looked after. weeds in bunkers. not playting again!!

Hot Chili Man told me about this website because I played this course on Sunday and had the same experience as others. A lot of dead spots, greens were SLOW, and don't hit in a bunker. That would be a two shot penalty! Green fee was way too high for the conditions. Course design is ok and no restaurant to speak of. Highest green fee in the area for sub-par course conditions.

This is a great golf course. Fun, challenging, with lots of trouble to test your game, but not so much it will make you quit. The greens are not flat and boring, three putting is common. Staff has ALWAYS been great EVERY time we've played, and today was no exception.

My friend told me about this site to review this course. I've played here many times over the years and the conditions get worse and worse. It is almost November and the course was just totally drenched. It is this way all the time. Just poor conditions day in and day out. The landscaping around the "temporary" clubhouse is nonexistent. Will someone please care for the customer and course. The owner must live in another state as it drastically needs help. HELP!!!

I guess I just don't get it? I don't review golf courses often, but I thought I'd look online after I played here yesterday.
This course could be REALLY good! But, checking in at the little shack they call a pro shop and paying over $50 for a weekend in October is way off. The course is really good, as far as layout and design, but conditions aren't what I expected. It's a weird feel when you're playing here. It's like the staff and GPS on carts and the really nice houses around the course make you feel like you're at a country club, but reality hits you as soon as you hit out of a bunker! The greens are still bumpy from Aerification, but they weren't terrible. The rough is terrible! I mean, is the mower broken or something? I've NEVER lost a ball in the rough at a public course, not even at Bethpage Black, but I lost one yesterday!
I read all the reviews below, and here's what I got from my experience at Highland Meadows:
It's got a real identity problem. I like the design, the staff was friendly and great. Zack Leeman is the new pro and he talked with me a lot and was very easy to get along with both on the phone and at the pro shop.
I'll probably play here 2-3 times a season. Maybe it'll get better, maybe it won't? Maybe they'll close? Because whoever owns this course is letting a really good course go to waste!

I played as a twosome and had to find the other two in the restaurant to tee off. Why is that my obligation? Place is poorly run. The course is a nice layout, but always in bad shape. The mats on the range drive me nuts. The clubhouse is still "temporary" after all these years.

I've stepped back in time. I played here 12 years ago and nothing has changed. Same "temporary" clubhouse, same poor conditions, same dirty carts, same tree, same, same, same, same!! Where is H.G. Wells when you need him?

I think I'll wait another 12 years, by then it will be 24 years back in time. Do you think everyone in the double-wide trailer will be using flip phones and listening to Justin Beiber? I bet they will be watching Titanic on the T.V.

Its been a while since my wife and I have played here, and our experience was excellent when we came to play today! Course conditions were superb, customer service in the pro shop far exceeded most public courses we play.
It seemed busy when we arrived, but we played in less than 4 hours.
We'll play here more often, I guess we didn't realize how nice it is or the last time we played it didn't make that much of an impression on us.

Played in a tournament at Highland. I really liked the the course, there are some houses close to you on some holes and then really opens up on the front & back. The greens were great, we made 16 birdies as a team!
I live in Broomfield, so I've got a few choices closer to me, but if I lived in the area I would choose Highland Meadows to play often!
Staff was really great, friendly and welcoming.

A lot of reviews for a course that nobody knows about. None of my friends have even heard about this place and we all live in Fort Collins and Loveland. Not crowded and I paid the temperature or something weird.
Good course, but I agree the conditions were less than average. Extremely wet spots in front of all greens and then dead spots on fairways. No grass in the first fairway. The bunkers were wet too and it hasn't rained in three months. Greens were ok.

We all enjoyed the food after the round in the shed. The staff was nice, except one guy who acts like someone pissed in his Cheerios. All in all, nice layout, I agree with others that it needs some TLC.

Not the best course I've ever played, but one of the better in Northern Colorado. We try and play here once and month. This year green saver book is unlimited $84 for a twosome! For this course, that's a great deal! GPS on carts and good conditions. Staff has always been great, the head pro checked us in and was very nice and thanked us for playing.

I rated it as almost good. Course design is good, but conditions were poor. Greens were ok, fairways are well below average and bunkers are horrible. Rough is thick and nasty. Kind of tough for me and my wife. Clubhouse is a temporary shack and kind of sets up the round and experience poorly.

My cart was filthy and it almost quit a few times. I might not come back until someone puts some TLC into the course.

As for the comments on the staff, I was treated very well by the golf pro at check in. I asked about the new course they are building and he is helping with it. He was very funny and professional. He told me his name and welcomed me to the course and invited me to their new one. I felt very welcomed so I think the comments from before are about someone who isn't there anymore.

We played Highland Meadows yesterday. It was really busy on the course and the pace wasn't that bad. I thought $69 for 18 holes with a GPS cart was a fair price for the quality of course it is.
Zack helped us in the pro shop (if you even want to call it that) he was very nice and chatted with us for a bit after our round and thanked us for playing.
Overall our experience was excellent! It's a beautiful course with a lot of houses, but it doesn't feel like that.
We live 40 miles away, so probably will only play 1-2 times a year.
I'd recommend playing here above the city courses in Fort Collins or Goose Poop Lakes in Water Valley!

Highland Meadows is stuck! Stuck with a shitty pro shop, a shitty range, and a shitty restaurant. And despite that, they actually have a really nice golf course, it has condition issues, just like any course, but it's not all beat up like most municipal courses.
I read these other reviews and don't understand why you target employees when reviewing golf courses...grow up people!!!
Are the greens nice and smooth? Are the fairways well maintained? Is the price fair? And I can answer yes to all these questions about Highland Meadows. I like the pros, they're always nice to me and have never treat me badly.
I like playing here, wish they could upgrade to a an actual clubhouse.

Almost good. Played in a tournament and the staff was very friendly. Not sure why as they are working out of a shed. I don't think I would have as much pride as they do. The course is wide open and the conditions are decent. Greens are a little slow and the bunkers are in terrible condition. The rest of the course is ok, fairways are a little thin. Might play again but a lot of options that are better if I have to drive from Denver.

WOW! Nice ratings guys. Yes, the course is over watered. Yes, you get to hit off a mat like miniature golf. Yes, the bunkers aren't raked. Yes, the pro shop is rude. Yes, cart path only stinks. BUT, the course is excellent and at a good value.

Don't really like watching what people are eating for breakfast as the houses are close to the fairways. And while I am complaining, what is the deal with the sharecroppers shack for a clubhouse. I would be a grumpy golf pro too if I had to work under those conditions.

I do like the course and will continue to play there. Maybe. I guess. Whatever!!

I've played at this course for over 7 years and I think it's great! I played today and it's in fine condition for March! It's not a municipal and there's not goose poop covering every green and fairway!

They do LOVE cart path only though, which I think is kinda stupid, but I usually walk anyway. The course isn't top notch everyday, but they do a good job, but it does seem to be wet a lot in the summer, even with no rain.

I know the pro who does the tournaments, and he is a great guy who doesn't take crap from customers and doesn't let people walk all over him.
I really like Highland Meadows and the staff there has always been friendly and helpful to me. The guys on here that complain about the staff are probably jerks and deserve to be treated like crap because they don't know how to respect hard working professionals in the customer service industry!
Play Highland! It's an awesome course!

How about rakes in the bunkers? Gee was the money I gave you not enough? I got to hit off a mat on the range and par 3's. I think I will stop payment on the check I wrote to highland meadows yesterday. Is the greenskeeper in rehab?

The tournament guy that everyone hates is a complete ass. Skip playing here as the customer is treated like dirt. Not only when in the pro shop but on the course. UGHHHH!

I've been playing Highland Meadows for over 5 years and it's a great course!
Well maintained fairways & greens at a reasonable price, especially their twilight rate.

You other guys need to learn how to review a golf course...very few people care if a golf pro didn't treat you like a king. Golf professionals constantly deal with unruly customers who think they are "owed" something! Don't act like an A-hole and you probably won't get treated like an A-hole.
Golfers want info on course conditions, pricing, playability, accessibility etc...
Highland Meadows' golf professionals have always treated me just fine.
I play HIghland Meadows for the value and the course is really fun and challenging, I don't go there expecting for a golf pro who works 60+ hours a week to be my best friend!

Well, I must say that whatever experience you others had at Highland Meadows you must've been drunk or deserved what was coming to you because we've had our tournament at HMGC for years and have always received exceptional customer service from the professional staff. Our tournament is a huge success for our charity and a large part of that success has been the contributions and commitment by the tournament director! The course is always in great condition and is a fun and challenging layout. The tournament players rave about how smooth everything goes on tournament days!
Don't let some negative reviews by a couple guys who drank too much sway your decision to play here! Highland Meadows is a premier golf facility in Northern Colorado with great staff!

Maybe you should make a tee time at McDonalds then! :)

Nice course, but can they turn the water off. Mud on my ball after every shot. Bunkers were almost unplayable. I played today on October 14th. Over 80 degrees and had to hit off a mat on the range. Awful experience and I know the tournament director that others have mentioned and he is a complete jerk. Until the issues of this course are corrected don't count me as a customer!!

I agree with M in that the tournament director is a real jerk. I hear he drives a lot of business away from the course. He spoke to my friend in a way that made my jaw drop. Never again!! Better service at McDonalds.

The tournament director is NOT very nice. Extremely condescending....Played in a tournament twice, will NOT play there again. Nice course, bad staff!!

One of the best golf courses in Northern Colorado. Fairways and greens were in terrific shape.

One of the best kept secrets anywhere! Beautiful views, great greens and some very tough blind shots. Bring your A game and you can shoot pretty low. Anything else could leave you hanging on for dear life.
