From beginner golfers to low handicappers, CommonGround Golf Course delivers an outstanding experience. CommonGround is the home of the Colorado Golf Association and Colorado Women's Golf Association, and is a public facility built to support the mission of both organizations: "To represent, promote, and serve the best interests of golf in the state of Colorado." Despite being centrally located in downtown Aurora, this Tom Doak design offers stunning mountain vistas. Beyond the championship golf course, CommonGround offers a 400-yard driving range that can accommodate more than 50 golfers, and a short game practice facility that consists of a large putting green and a separate green devoted strictly to bunker play, chipping and pitching. Walkers are welcome at CommonGround and caddies are available.

The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. The design is very good. I loved the graduated rough with adequate fairway, then 15 yards of 2 inch rough which affects your iron shot and then high grass where you could lose your ball if you hit your ball far offline. It appropriately penalizes long but errant shots. I understand they may play one round of the US Amateur stroke play here and the rest of the tournament at Cherry Hills. Great choice in my opinion. My only complaint was too much contour on tthe 15th and 16th greens. I was shocked to read the negative comments. Perhaps just a different perspective.

At first glance I was not sure what to think, they tore down the much larger Mira Vista clubhouse and it seemed they raised prices quite a bit. However, the new clubhouse is 10 times the quality of the old "bomb shelter" of Mira Vista. And as far as the prices go, yes if you are a non CGA member choosing to ride a cart the cost is going to be $65 dollars. However, if you are a CGA member and walking (and the course is very walkable) you will pay a mere $40!! This is an incredible rate to pay for a Doak design! You were greeted with a smile and felt the atmosphere was friendly throughout the entire experience. I feel bad for anyone who felt otherwise and urge them to try this course again. I for one, will most definitely be returning to this course!!!

OK course, but way over priced. Murphy Creek is a much better course at a much better price. I might play here again if they lower the price.

I used to play Mira Vista on a regular basis, usually after work for a fair price. The old clubhouse was dated but still better then what's out there now. I love playing the new course but I'll travel to play better courses for what they charge now.

When the CGA decided to have Tom Doak redesign mira Vista, I was told it would make only "a small difference" in green fees. Well, from $26 to $65 sounds more than a small difference, and the course is no better than Mira Vista! The greens are like a bad dream.

Decent course but not worth the money they are charging for green fees/cart. A lot nicer courses for the money...

Take it from an avid golfer....Doak has done it again! If you are looking for a fantastic design with superb conditioning at a bargain, play CommonGround! As far as the other posters comment about Murphy Creek, I had to play lift, clean and place in June a couple of weeks ago in a tournament because there was no grass on the fairways. You can't go wrong with CommonGround!

It's overpriced. Not as great as they keep telling you it is. It replaced Mira Vista GC. A fun affordable exmilitary golf course. This new golf course with its snobbish attitude is more for the yuppies than the people who live near it. Save your money and go play the much superior Murphy Creek GC
