- Spectacular views! Subpar conditions. Uneven tee boxes, greens ok but need cut, and the sand traps like they were dugout with a backhoe and left. Such potential going to wasteGreens and course country club price, city course quality. Too bad. Beautiful views, quiet with nature all around. No one is taking care of this gem.I have played this course many times over the past decade. The views are spectacular. The people very friendly, and helpful. The course needs some attention. It's nearly impossible to find a level spot on the tee box to hit from, and the greens have so many barren spots, it's impossible for putts to run true. If you want to enjoy a nice walk with great mountainous views of Colorado, this course will fill that bill. If undulating, unlevel tee boxes, and rough greens with many brown spots will frustrate you, skip this course.Early 2015 and the course is BACK. Greens are in excellent shape, fairways are filling in nicely and are very playable. Tee boxes are still a mess due to contours of construction, but they have always been that way. Considering the rates they charge the Tees should be the same quality as the greens and the course would be comparable to all other area courses.
Knowing what this course looked like during the drought years, it has made and excellent comeback for 2015. If the regrowth of the fairways continues and they fix the tee boxes.......this course could be a destination course like they claim it to be.
Clubhouse is under new management, and service is getting better.Very enjoyable and course was in great shape. Amazing views distract from the golf game.I played this course in 2013 and 2014. Great improvements made the course very enjoyable in 2014. Quality has greatly improved and provided excellent play.played it in early july, 2014. the course was in good shape, the greens a bit slow but otherwise fine, the fairways were fine. I am a 5 handicap, I shot four over. I played the Telluride course the day before..i would play this course any day over the Telluride course.Since Equilibrium has taken over this course has gone downhill. No water is being used
on the fairways. and they are even losing
some greens. Don't waste your money
until the course gets better.Spring 2013
The fairways need a grow out. Last years drought caused severe damage. Its worse than a cow pasture. They saved the greens but should reseed, water and not allow public play until it grows out.
We were not warned about the very substandard playing conditions before they took our money.
Upside, best views in the country, great layout, really nice cart paths.
downside, lack of water rights or poor management or both.
This course is in need of a lot of TLC, It could be one of the Colorado Jewels of golf if it could get some water.
The clubhouse was very nice and the staff was very helpful and personable. The food was great, pretty extensive menu and quick service. The rates were very reasonable for such an amazing mountain golf course- I've paid twice the amount to play in other areas that did not live up to the Divide.
