The Bridges at Black Canyon is located in Melrose on Colorado's scenic Western Slope. Jack Nicklaus, the designer of the golf course, gave it a traditional design that incorporated rock features, waterfalls, and numerous lakes to provide a scenic challenge. The golf course gets its name from the seventeen unique golf cart and walking bridges that are placed throughout. The rolling terrain gives golfers many opportunities to take in stunning views of the Grand Mesa to the north and the San Juan Mountain Range along the southern horizon. Water comes into play on 14 holes at The Bridges at Black Canyon and there are more than a hundred sand bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Anyone who complains about a 2 1/2 hour back nine with the spectacular views of the snowcapped 14,000 ft San Juan Mtns. is probably just playing poorly.

Played in the Bridges Open this weekend. Very well run tournament. Staff was great. On course spotters and on course rules officials. Course condition very good. Restaurant food and service tops. Encourage ALL competitive golfers to try this experience next year.

I give the course a 5 but the membership I give a 1. We had an 11:30 tee time but a membership 5 with no tee time cut in and showed us how to play really slow. 2.5 hr on the back 9... Really? Never let us through, jerks. And one was an employee who parks carts. This course has always been part of our annual golf trip but maybe not in the future, probably Cobble Creek next year. WHERE THE HELL IS THE MARSHAL?
