- This is a hidden gem that is fun and challenging to play, with a welcoming staff and friednly, casual membership. The Press Maxwell design has aged well, and you will be challenged by a variety of shots. The greens are very subtle and more complex than first meets the eye. For anyone in hte Boulder area looking for a great golf club value, look no further!Stunning views, a challenging layout, and amazing course conditions. I've been a member here for about 7 months, and I absolutely LOVE it. It's become my home away from home, and I'm out at the course almost everyday. The staff are incredible, the greens roll perfect, and it truly is a "golfers" golf course. If you're in Boulder, this is a "must-play" and if you're looking for an affordable course to join as a member, I highly recommend Lake Valley.Great course with great staff in the pro shop and in the grille/bar. Entire experience is about golf and playing a course that is carefully maintained. The greens are true Press Maxwell specials with challenging reads without the need for huge undulations. I've seen scratch golfers challenged by the greens, without the benefit of local knowledge.
Definitely a bargain if you're looking for a club that is all about golf and has a great member base that becomes your social family!difficult track, nice variety of holes, well kept and user friendly/easy to get a game or a tee timeThis is a hidden gem in Boulder county staffed and attended by people who love the game, and want a friendly, fun, and challenging course to play.I'm not sure where Golf Now gets its information but Lake Valley Golf Club has been private since 1999. While it is a true Press Maxwell gem and always in excellent in shape it is not accessible except as a guest, through reciprocal play from another private Club or by participating in one the few charity fundraisers the Club hosts each year.
The Persimmon Grille is a jewel. The low-key, casual vibe can be shared by everyone...members and non-members alike. The atmosphere is bested only by the food, which is delicious and reasonably priced.
For anyone looking for a great course, with fun people and an excellent value, I highly recommend Lake Valley Golf Club.
