I don't how two of tbe other reviewers were able to consider this a short course since it plays over 7, 000 yards. Maybe next time look over your shoulder ftom the red tees and notice there are 3 other sets of tees behind you. I play to a 4 and the wrong side of 80 waiting if I don't pay attention. The course has some great views, plenty of challenging holes, fast greens and is in as good a shape as you can expect for a $50 per round public course

This is a great course. The condition of the course is always very good. Rangers keep the pace of play comfortable and you are rarely waiting or being pushed. When you come in on 18 and look at the view you know why you live in Colorado.

    Background:
I've played this course at least 50 times over the last 8 years. I'm a 5 handicap.

    Positives:
I love the layout. The wind direction is constantly changing based on the routing. It's not quite a bump and run links style course however 2 out of every 3 holes may be played this way, if that's you thing. "Most of the holes present interesting risk/reward scenarios. I'm a long player and I don't think of this course as "short". It's not long but to make up for this smaller greens (relative to most front range courses) put a premium on your approach shots. When you miss a green you're not "dead". The short game scenarios are more fun than terrifying. In terms of speed and quality the greens are better than average although their coloring is "splotchy" which puts some people off. The practice range, putting, and chipping greens are some of my favorite in the area. I like to practice and this is in my top three course to come and practice. The staff are friendly and easy going.

    Negatives:
I wish it were more affordable. Pace of play is not great but that's what you get for playing a fun course that a wide range of handicaps often patronize. Don't get me started on players not being ready to play when its their turn. Standing on the 18th tee box you can see why it's the finishing hole. It's beautiful. However I would prefer to start on 10 and finish on 9. This is because 6,7, 8, and 9 are tough holes. Your round can easily get away from you here, adding for great drama to any match or attempt to better your best score. At least the way the course is routed now, you have the back side to make up for any sins committed on these unforgiving holes.

Way too expensive and bad lay out! Pace of play was terrible. 5:15 minutes to play that short course. Plus you have to dodge tee balls from people on other holes.

Terrible course and staff had zero personality. Pace of play was not bad for a weekend though 4:40 minutes. Short course and below average shape.

They keep the course in great condition and I always have a lot of fun playing it. I wish the price was a little cheaper but other than that for a local public course I don't think you can do much better, especially considering the views!
