I'm rating this course against other Par 3s and tweener courses in the area. I know it says its an executive 9 but this is just a par 3 with 2/3 par 4s you can reach in 2 depending on your skill level.

The course layout is nice, I appreciate how its not stacked up on itself and somewhat meanders around the property.

I played in late October and the pond and creeks were all dried up making it easy to recover any stray shots, still lost a few in the cattails but thats a personal problem. The course however was well maintained for how late in the season it was and there wasn't a lot of leaves on the ground so it was easy to find most shots. Grounds crew doing well with the course for the time of year.

The staff/ownership and clientele all fit a very family friendly vibe or low stress/pressure round.

If you are familiar with courses within the area I'd call this Haystack mountain's little brother in every since of the way. And i say that as a positive thing.

I will golf here again to get a quick 9 in or take my wife who is just learning the sport. This is the kind of environment I want her to learn on before we step up and play a more formal course which would be overwhelming for her right now. I would take her to hyland hills south par 3 but the ambiance out at stoney creek makes it a more pleasurable experience without housing/apartments built up around it. gives the entry level golfer confidence they won't take out a window with a stray shot.

Love this course! I play it all the time because it's so close and fun. It's short but still leaves a nice challenge. Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, and great rates! Love this place!

Just played this course for the first time. Other reviews weren't kidding - plenty to test your short game! I played 9 holes at a great pace this morning and can't wait to go back.

Great little course to work on your short game. It's not very challenging so it's great for a quick 9 after work or to take a beginner.

You cannot appreciate the beauty of the course until you approach the first green on the first hole. From the road, this course looks like a nice course. When you start playing and drop down onto the pastoral valley, you will be pleased with the views in every direction. Full front range mountain view to the West and in every other direction you will see beautiful farmlands.

The course took a hard hit a few years ago during a bitter cold and dry winter. Today, the course has been revived and you will not be disappointed. The owners of this course are committed to giving everyone a good playing experience.

As Stoney's golf instructor (Ron Lohman) says, Keep em' in the fairway!

I've played this course twice. It's a very nice local executive course with plenty of water and sand to keep things interesting. The last time I played was a day after a decent rain but the course took in the water nicely. Watch for cross-winds with high flyers, they can sneak-up on you. There's a bald eagle sanctuary near by, on my last visit I got to see a juvenile soaring just over the 1st hole.

Want to sharpen up your short game ? This is the place. Since most of your scoring comes from 100 yards and in, this place will test you for sure.

This golf course has come a long way since last year. The greens are healed and the fairways are in great shape. Greens are holding so now I get to use my ball mark repair tool. They are now excepting American Express credit cards. Yea!
