- I have played Ballyneal 5 times now over 8 years and on June 27 this was the best shape the course has ever been in. The caddies were very helpful and the quiet atmosphere was awesome. A long walk rewarded!!!This is a highly rated, very fun course. The only reason it is rated four stars is because the yardage is weird due to no tee box markers. The caddies are great and help golfers with making club choices. Course itself is amazing with very difficult rough, crazy hard bunkers, and very hilly greens. No doubt why this course is rated as high as it is. Nothing around it though so be prepared. But enjoy this isolated treat!!
